Mary Wickes was born in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Perhaps remembered as Nurse Preen, opposite a delightfully irascible Monty Woolley, in William Keighley´s "The Man Who Came to Dinner" (1941) or, on TV, as Miss Cathcart in "Dennis the Menace" (1959) (1959-63). She voiced Cruella De Vil in Disney's "101 Dalmations" (whose face was modeled on Katharine Hepburn´s).
